About This Treatment

What Is Hylenex (Hyaluronidase)?

Hylenex is an FDA-approved form of hyaluronidase — an enzyme that rapidly breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. Whether you're unhappy with a previous result, experiencing a complication, or simply want to start fresh, Hylenex offers a safe and effective solution.

Results are visible quickly, often within 24–48 hours. In some cases, touch-up injections of Hylenex may be needed to achieve full dissolution. Barbara Kulik, MSN, FNP-BC, NP-C, is experienced in careful, precise filler correction to restore your natural appearance.

Note: Hylenex only dissolves HA-based fillers (such as Restylane, Juvederm, Revanesse). It does not affect Sculptra, Radiesse, or other non-HA products.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly does Hylenex work?+
Most patients see significant reduction within 24–48 hours. A follow-up appointment may be needed to assess results and determine if additional treatment is required.
Does dissolving filler hurt?+
The procedure involves small injections, similar to getting filler. Topical numbing cream is applied for comfort.
Will I look completely back to normal?+
In most cases, yes. The timeline depends on how long the filler has been in place and how much was injected. Some patients choose to get new filler 2–4 weeks after dissolving.
Can I get new filler right after dissolving?+
We recommend waiting at least 2–4 weeks to allow the tissue to settle before injecting new filler.
Is Hylenex safe?+
Yes — Hylenex is FDA-approved and has been used safely for decades. Allergic reactions are rare.
